Annie Report: Miracle Complete

Today, for the first time in more than five months, Annie has skin everywhere there's supposed to be skin.
Last week, the wound grew small enough that a scab formed for the first time. Overnight, the scab came off (or Lizbit licked it off,) revealing the last necessary bit of beautiful, new, gleaming, pink skin.
Five months ago, her skinless back didn't leave her much chance for survival. I remain awed by her healing.
I am thankful for her regular vet who kept such a close watch over her to stave off what seemed like inevitable infection; her veterinary surgeon who developed a new technique for dealing with huge wounds originally for gunshot victims, but thought it might work for Annie, too; for the astonishing healing powers of nature and/or God (I believe they go together); for Annie's resilient courage, strong instinct for survival, and good nature even when in misery; for the handsome mastiff that captured her attention at the vet's on the day she might have come closest to giving up; and to all of you who sent prayers and good wishes for her recovery.
Okay. I'm through being sappy now. I'm going to go buy a bottle of champagne or wine (for me) and more chewie sticks (for Annie and Lizbit.) Later, I'll call in an order to Papa John's. We are going to have a genuine celebration tonight, complete with pizza bones of the highest quality.

Okay, this made me tear up. And laugh. I'd never heard the term "pizza bones" before, but I knew just what you meant. Midnight gets them, too. Our best to the entire clan.

WOO HOO! We're having a party!
sc & Annie and the rest of the camaro clan, thanks for sharing your good news! This is the best news that I've had in a long time! I love it when someone beats the odds, and makes it thru a grueling health event. Be it a four-legged or two-legged animal!
Scritches to all of the bored's four-legged buddies.

Wow, I didn't realize Annie was still recovering, or that her injuries were so recent and so severe. What great news that she will soon be completely well. And congrats to her mom for having the courage and patience to see her thru.
Ricky and Angie say "Congrats!" too.

Well, since Annie is MY roommate, I'm totally overwhelmed at the news.
Thank you Lord for providing those who knew what to do and how to do it.

This wasn't from the car accident on that Very Bad Day a few years ago. This was an, ummm, domestic disturbance that happened back at Christmas time.

(Warning: That's a disturbing thread, tempered as it is now with a happy ending!)

Yo, Annie Baby!
I was wondering why Dad brought in some fresh catnip when he got home today...he said something about a celebration for one of my pals.
Glad to hear that vets are good for more than CUTTING...uhh, well, you know. It sounds like you got yourself a good one.
Glad to hear that all is well!
Cheers!!!

I know that Annie and SC are multilingual, so I won't translate. The kids are just so excited, they couldn't speak English tonight!
Yay, Annie!!!

As I read this, Sybil decided to grace me with her presence, and meow several times (normally, it's a one-shot deal with her). I took this as a sign of her saying, "Tell Annie I said hello, and I am pleased as punch that she's all better now."
Funny, I was gonna say the same thing, but now I'll sound like a copy cat. So I'll send (via ESP) a nice musical phrase for Annie to use in her opera, and two metaphors for use in her novel and/or memoir. No need to acknowledge receipt...I know she'll get 'em.
Her recovery is a true testament as to your love and care for Annie, Jusy. Bless you, too!
