Let me pull Bartlet's Familiar Quotations off the shelf...turn the the "P" section...ah, here it is, "Peacock2121."

Really, do I have to say it?

When Lowell is our 3rd baseman, and A-Rod is yours, this will be different.
I am about 25% sure of this.

Bob Ryan's (long-time sports columnist from the Boston Globe) column ending today says it all:

"2004 was an exorcism. 2007 is an exclamation point. Red Sox rule! Go ahead. Call up the Yankee fan in your life. Be as obnoxious as you want to be. Otherwise, what's the point?"

They'll have to revise my favorite 2004 T-shirt:

"World Championships this century

(Red Sox logo) 2

(Yankees logo) 0"
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Well, the Cubbies spent 300 million dollars and only fell 11 victories short of holding that trophy. Mebbe Mark Cuban can make a difference-----NOT!!!!!

Now, all you have to do is sign A-Rod for $30M plus per year for 8 years or so and your transformation into the NEW Evil Empire will be complete!!

Seriously, congrats to Red Sox fans (ok, it took me about 47 minutes to type that last sentence, I had to force my fingers onto each letter, but I got it done!).

See, not all of us Yankee fans are bad. And some of my best friends are Red Sox fans, too! To those who have genuinely been fans of the team for many years, enjoy your team's success!

And we'll see ya again next season...same time, same rivalry!

#7 Post by fuzzywuzzy » Tue Oct 30, 2007 6:50 am

Today is the celebratory parade in Boston for our beloved 2007 World Series Champs - the Boston Red Sox. Therefore, a new avatar for the occassion!

From the Boston Globe:

Faithful fans await today's victory rally

The confetti-blowers have been loaded, the route readied, the duck boats decorated . At noon today, the Boston Red Sox will take to the streets in yet another victory parade.

And yes, Papelbon will reprise his Irish stepdance to the music of Dropkick Murphys on a flatbed truck in the procession!
