(there actually is a classical music piece by this name, but I am using this header because.....)
I had not heard of non-urban-myth ie real world examples of this type of animal abuse. I can only imagine the suffering Princess endured.

I would like someone to do to the slime molds what they did to the cat. Now, objectively, I don't believe in capital punishment, etc, etc, but I wouldn't exactly go & rescue the slime molds, either.
I met a woman once in the animal hospital who told me why she never lets her cat outside, based on what happened to a previous pet cat. At least that cat died quicker.

I shouldn't have clicked on the link. The story really upset me.

I clicked this thread because I am always interested in what etaoin has to say, but I do not think I want to go any further or else I may not sleep tonight.
Animal cruelty infuriates me. It makes my heart hurt as well. I cannot click on this link. I will go hug my feline pals instead.

I saw the word animal in the message and the word microwave in the link and that was plenty enough for me to not click on the link for anything.
People used to ask me how I could stand to hear all the stories in court. Oddly enough, anything involving people hardly ever bothered me at all, but the animal cruelty ones practically killed me. Especially if it was sentencing day and I had to sit next to the judge on the bench. Several times the inside of my mouth would be bleeding because I had to bite on the inside of my cheeks to keep my face expressionless.

Not reading it.
There is a special place in hell for people who torture animals.
I understand justifying some pharmaceutical/other experimentation because it benefits humans, who are supposedly more valuable, but even much of that makes me queasy.
They cannot give their consent. They are innocent.
I am not certain of a heaven for people, many of whom suck, and are mean to each other. But I am sure there is a heaven for animals, who do the best they can without a moral compass.
