From the abbreviated and incomplete description of the process, I think this guy might have passed the written test (twice!!!) but may not necessarily have gotten the post card putting him in the pool.

I think the expression "Duh!" was invented for items like this.

As to his use of "contestant pool":

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

All you can tell from his blog is that he lives in or near Atlanta and that he does a podcast.

You've got to go back nearly a month to fing an entry with a reader's comment, so it's obviously a very popular blog! :P

He plays at the Wings And Things location in Fayetteville, Georgia, about 22 miles south of downtown Atlanta.

If anyone decides to go there for trivia night, please order a platter of "Things" and let us know how they are.

Wow, that really was bad. Which part of that was "secret"???

He left out some really critical information...like that you get to keep the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire pencil that you use to take the test! That's more of a "secret" than anything he said!!

Bad news: The guy whose "auditioning secrets" were reported in this blog ended up getting the Sad Card. :(

The interview confuses me. “Why do you want to be on the show?”. For the love of God, I have no idea what answer they were looking for.
I feel your pain, Dan.

Oh my gosh! I actually know Jim! He and his son own and run thetriviafactory.com company in the Atlanta. We played every week at the Mellow Mushroom in Peachtree City for several years. Never met Dan the auditioner although I may recognize his team if he had mentioned it. Jim's a great guy, reminds me alot of the confessor.

At the risk of blowng the lid off the true secrets... I'll get everyone started. Starting at the 3rd letter in the article, take the Fibinocci sequence and circle every letter from that point on using the sequence as a guide. When you have determined all the letters, convert them into ASCII. Take that sequence of numbers, remove the spaces and then group them by 3's and 2's (so you have a 3 digit number followed by a 2 digit number, repeatedly). Then get the code book - I can't tell you the name of the novel, that would be cheating, but if you go on an odyssey, it might show up in your wake. You'll know when you find it - if you do you can rejoyce. The first three digits signify the page, the second 2 digits is the letter on the page. Reassamble all the letters and the secret will be all yours - but don't tell anyone else!!!!

I've got the book, now I just need someone who can do the math.

No, he is not.

I have a couple of cousin Jims on my Irish side but they are not Driscolls.
