I would have lost this one if it had showed up on Dead or Alive. I thought he died years ago.
When the Omni Center opened in Atlanta in the mid-1970s, it was a block-long indoor mall next to the new basketball/hockey arena. In addition to the usual shops, it had "The World of Sid and Marty Krofft" on the top floor, which was an indoor amusement park with exhibits and characters from their shows. The highlight was a very long exit escalator that went from the top floor to the ground floor to get people out of there. It only lasted five months (I never went).
In the 1980s, the building became the world headquarters of CNN (and was renamed the CNN Center), and their shows were taped there. I went with my office on a guided tour once. But CNN gradually moved its operations to New York and another location near the Georgia Tech campus. Now, it's been remodeled again with a huge food court, renamed The Center, and will reopen to the public in June for the World Cup. (Atlanta will host several games, none involving the US team, at Mercedes Benz Stadium, which is on the other side of the now-State Farm Arena.
