#10. "Say Somethin'" - Austin Mahone (2012)

This Mecca CD earworm is practically a guilty pleasure, since this is the same kind of millennial pop nonsense Justin Bieber was doing at the time, and Mahone followed the same path of parlaying singing videos he posted in the early days of YouTube as a stepping stone to fortune and fame. Mahone was just 16 years old at the time this song was recorded, and it's what got him his first national record deal. The first song he released independently was titled.... "11:11!" "Say Somethin'" is just pure fun, and outlasted the two CD's it appeared on to become a semi-regular Mecca earworm over the past decade...

#9. "This Thing Called Wantin' and Havin' It All" - Sawyer Brown (1995)

2008 was a strange year at Mecca with a ton of changes aimed at becoming more like Tar-jhay. One was silencing the in-store radio during shopping hours, which thankfully only lasted about a year. But it introduced a weird phenomenon... each night at 11:00 PM, for unknown reasons, the silence would break and a single song would play before returning to dead air. It didn't take me long to figure out the same song was playing on the same day of the week every week. This was the Friday night song that welcomed me back to my workweek... and I honestly didn't care much for it for the longest time. That punctuated little piano opening just screamed "Monday morning" to me for months. Yet, here it is in my Top 10, and yes, I absolutely love this song now and am even known to clap along to it when playing it on YouTube.
