Science fiction and horror author Dan Simmons passed away this past weekend. I read Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion which were amazing.

Re: RIP Dan Simmons
As were Endymion and The Rise of Endymion. On the other hand to my mind some of his works with more contemporary settings (Flashback, to name one) suffered from a world view of contemporary politics that I found totally unrealistic. I have the same issue with Orson Scott Card when his work delves into politics as opposed to more fanciful matters. —Bobdanielh41 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 27, 2026 12:58 pmScience fiction and horror author Dan Simmons passed away this past weekend.
