Just got back from Las Vegas. Highlights-Stayed at Flamingo-saw Wizard of Oz at the sphere-Highly recommended if you get the chance-saw Def Leppard (the main reason for the trip for Mrs Spock-she enjoyed them-for me-Meh-almost everybody was near our age approaching 60.
Had bone marrow and lamb chops at the Golden Steer-I have had bone marrow on my bucket list-so good but once was enough-lamb chops were awesome.
Did better on gambling this time than we did 2 years ago. We mostly played quarter video poker and I hit maybe a dozen 4 of a kinds-one was 4 Aces and was $500. Mrs Spock hit a Royal Flush and that money came home with us.
We went with another couple and on Monday we walked up to the Shoppes at the Venetian with the purpose of visiting Baumann Rare Books-The wife of the other couple is not really familiar with my dry sense of humor and May not have quite gotten my joke when I said it was a major stop for Bachelorette parties. She really enjoyed the visit to bookstore (seriously).
I found one book that I really liked but I wasn't going to spend $950 for a book-although I thought about it.
Also drooled over a complete collection of the works of Richard Harding Davis (He had ties to Teddy Roosevelt and such) that was $1,800 and I did think about it-but I checked when I got home and on Kindle there is a complete collection of his works for $2.99 -so I think I will go that way-LOL-I am much more of a reader than a collector but I do have some very interesting old books that might be worth something.
