Lyrically Speaking - Day 3

Laurel Canyon Days
Laurel Canyon in the late ’60s–early ’70s was basically a bohemian pressure cooker for rock, folk, and counterculture music. A lot of recording artists lived there, others practically never left. Below are a mixture of songs from artists who lived in Laurel Canyon in those creative times.
1 point for title, 1 point for artist
1- Yes, and I ain't sayin' you ain't pretty
All I'm saying's I'm not ready for any person
Place or thing to try and pull the reins in on me
2- Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you
3- I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade
Unto my own parade
Cast your dancing spell my way
I promise to go under it
4- Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way that you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way
5- There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Are getting so much resistance from behind
6- 'Cause I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
I've been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That it's later than it seems
7- Won't you look down upon me, Jesus?
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way
8- And I found out a long time ago
What a woman can do to your soul
Ah, but she can't take you anyway
You don't already know how to go
9- And after every number they'd pass the hat
McGuinn and McGuire just a gettin' higher
In L.A., you know where that's at
And no one's gettin' fat except Mama Cass
10- There's a killer on the road
His brain is squirmin' like a toad
Take a long holiday
Let your children play
11- Ooh, baby, when I see your face
Mellow as the month of May
Oh, darlin', I can't stand it
When you look at me that way
12 - Well, we got no class
And we got no principals (ooh)
And we got no intelligence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes, well
Krox Bonus: Name another song you like from any of the artists above.
