Lyrically Speaking 10-21-25

Today each song has a reference to a literary work in the title or the lyrics or both. In addition to the title and artist, give the name of the author of the literary work for an extra point.
I put the songs in order from the most recent literary work to the earliest.
1. You'll be surprised, there's so much to be done,
Count all the bees in the hive,
Chase all the clouds from the sky
2. What do you think you'll do then?
I bet they'll shoot down the plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again
3. Though his mind is not for rent
Don't put him down as arrogant
His reserve, a quiet defense
Riding out the day's events
4. And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head
Feed your head
5. [Instrumental]
Da-da da-da da-DA-da daaah
6. Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity
7. And so it was later
When the miller told this tale
8. Her name is Aphrodite
And she rides a crimson shell
And you know you cannot leave her
For you touched the distant sands
