Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez, who was in Indianapolis last weekend to provide color commentary for the Colts-Raiders game, was stabbed following an altercation outside a local hotel Friday night. The altercation involved a 69-year-old truck driver who was not charged in the incident. Sanchez was originally charged with several misdemeanors, including public intoxication, but the charge was upgraded to the felony of battery involving serious bodily injury, which carries a sentence of up to six years in prison. Both Sanchez and the truck driver, who was not charged, remain hospitalized. Sanchez is in stable condition. According to the truck driver's statement, he was making a delivery Friday night at the hotel's loading dock, when Sanchez approached him. After they argued, the truck driver said he was afraid for his life and first sprayed Sanchez with pepper spray. When Sanchez persisted, he stabbed Sanchez with a knife he carried for self-defense, then Sanchez assaulted and beat him before Sanchez drove off to a hospital for medical attention. Sanchez said his memory of the incident was unclear.
Are you sure about that? I thought he played for the Jets. --Bob

Mark Sanchez has now been sued by the truck driver in connection with the incident. The driver's lawsuit also sued Fox, Sanchez's employer, for negligent hiring, negligent retention, and negligent supervision, in that they should have known about Sanchez's propensity for drinking and other harmful conduct.

It's good to see that our Indiana counterparts are covering all of their bases! Even if they are a bunch of hoosiers...

This was the highlight of his pro career. It is called the Butt Fumble because he runs into his own lineman's rear end.
