Barack Obama's good friend and house-hunting buddy Tony Rezko is now in more trouble with the law. As he awaits the jury verdict on his federal racketeering charges, a Nevada judge has issued an arrest warrant against him for nearly $500,000 in unpaid casino markers, some of which he passed a bad check for.

Just one more interesting tidbit for the next Fox documentary about the "real" Barack Obama.

Regardless of Rezko's other actions with Obama and any actual or perceived illicit connection they have, this has nothing to do with them.

The first time as an adult that I was ever really pissed at my mother was when she called me sometime in my second year of college. One of my old high school friends, whom I had not seen or heard from since graduating, had been arrested for check kiting. Mom berated me for my choice of friends. I just said "Okay, Mom", but I remember thinking "WTF was I supposed to do about it now, and how was I supposed to know what someone is doing outside of my presence and knowledge, or will do later on in life?"

You need to back up your claim that Rezko is Obama's "good friend".

Maybe a good friend, maybe not.

I don't know many people who would pay $600,000 for a worthless strip of land just so someone else could buy a house on the adjacent piece of property unless they were pretty good friends.

There is no evidence the sale of the house was contingent on the sale of the vacant lot next door.

Don't start convicting people based on guilt by association, or Hillbilly would get the death penalty.

Let's see. Obama calls up Rezko and asks for help on the real estate transaction. The strip Rezko buys is worthless on its own (you can't really build a house on it due to its shape and lack of street access). He pays full asking price for it while Obama gets a sweetheart deal on the house from the same owner and the two parcels close at the same time.

Then to top it off, Rezko sells Obama some of the land back at a later date and the property Rezko is left with is too small under local zoning laws to build anything on it at all. So it becomes completely worthless instead of practically worthless.

But there's no evidence there was anything fishy with the deal.

If Obama is truly ignorant about the land deal, and all his dealings with Rezko and Ayers and Wright and everyone else whom he claims at best a passing acquaintance with, then he makes Forest Gump look like a rocket scientist.
