RIP Sly Stone

Lead singer for the group, Sly and the Family Stone, who performed at Woodstock and became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their songs included "Dance to the Music" and "Everyday People."
Age 82.

Back in the day when I was a sorority chick at Univ of Washington me and my posse would hop onto the dining room tables and sing and dance to Sly. It was epic!

Should this be in the political lounge? Did you grow up in the 70s and have fun? Does music define you? I like classical, funk, jazz, country, etc. Just curious.

I liked Sly. He was a great entertaininer, not just musician. Always put on a fun performance and seemed to love what he did.

Two friends said it was the best concert they had ever seen. Philadelphia. The Spectrum, September of 1971.
His music is in regular rotation on my playlists.

I wish I had seen a concert of theirs. For evoking back in the day saw EWF at the Pavilion eatly 2000s and the Eisley Bros. Gotta say EWF is probably my fave.
