On the strength of a six-game winning streak, the New York Mets now have undisputed possession of first place in the National League East. I don't know how long it'll last, but I'll enjoy it while it does. --Bob

By holding on to a ninth-inning lead (albeit by the skin of their teeth), the Mets have extended their lead in the National League Eastern Division to a season-high three games. --Bob

Looks like it may be one of those seasons. For the first time in more than a month, the Mets have now fallen out of first place. --Bob

With the involuntary help of a team that has yet to reach double-digits in wins after play completed on June 1, the Mets have regained undisputed possession of first place in the National League East. —Bob

They made it a lot more exciting than I'd have liked, but by completing a sweep of the Nationals, the Mets extended their division league to a season-high five and a half games. --Bob

The Mets have recovered their footing, at least a bit, salvaging a split of their 4-game series with Atlanta. Combined with Houston's sweep of Philadelphia, that was enough for the Mets to retake undisputed possession of first place in the National League Eastern Division. --Bob

It took a little longer than two days, but the Mets are back on top of the National League East. Let's see whether they can maintain their lead into the All-Star Break. --Bob

Don’t look now, but those Boston Red Sox have won nine in a row (as of today’s game) to move within four games of first place.
