This is where things start getting a little hairy, as bands of this size tend to undergo a number of lineup changes, sometimes adding or subtracting their number of members in the process (I'm looking at YOU, Beach Boys). So at the very least, I think I can say these groups were all at least quintets for some time, and their best known roster had five members.
