#1 Post by Vandal » Mon Feb 17, 2025 9:52 pm

2525 - Annum 10 (Last one)

In the year ____, the following events occurred:

1- A young model wins Miss America and goes on to become a successful actress, appearing on Batman, Star Trek and Barnaby Jones, and more.

2- An Alabama woman famously refuses to give up her bus seat to a white person in a southern US city.

3- After years of futility, a bunch of "bums" finally knock off their crosstown rivals in the World Series in seven games.

4- A new theme park with official tagline “The Happiest Place on Earth", opens in Southern California.

5- A German-born theoretical physicist dies at the "relative"-ly young age of 76.

6- A Broadway musical, a modern retelling of the Faust legend set during the 1950s in Washington, D.C., began its run of 1,019 performances in its original production.

7- A film about an English teacher in an interracial inner-city school, the first major film to feature rock music in its soundtrack, is released.

Questions:
Two points each:

Who is the title-winning young model in #1?
What state did she represent?
Is she dead or alive?

Who is the woman in #2?
In what city did it happen?

Who are the winners (about time) in #3?
Who are the losers?

What is the name of the "happiest" theme park in #4?
In what month did it open?
In what city is it located?

Who is the famous person in #5?

What is the musical in #6?

What is the film in #7?
What classic rock song plays over the opening credits?

What year did all the above events take place? (Five points)

Total points: 33

Thanks for playing, everyone!

2525 will return in the future, I'm pretty sure. It was not a struggle to put together.

Let me know what you think of the format and how it can be improved (more questions, fewer questions, include the 1800s), etc. Also, what year would you like to see represented? All comments are welcome.

Plus, if there is a Bored challenge favorite you'd like to see brought back, please let me know and I'll try to have something ready in May. The good days outnumber the bad.

I really enjoyed this and would love to see it again. It's a good format, but going beyond the 20th century might be too difficult to create.

Thanks for hosting Annum. Even though I sucked, it was fun. My trivia rolodex has some cards missing, some misfiled, and others the ink is so faded I can't read the entries.

This was a fun game! Not too taxing (even though a combo of computer and physical issues have caused some tardiness on my part). I like the shortness of the clues, but still having to know multiple things, which suits my scattershot knowledge base. I thought that the year thing would be really hard, but there was generally at least one clue that made the exact year relatively easy (even though my dumb ass managed to fudge that up at least once by not reading through every clue before coming to a conclusion) Did you plan it that way?

It would make it easier if the questions followed the statement to avoid having to scroll back and forth. Yes, old people like me have already forgotten what statement number was what in a period of minutes. Ha!

The best part was that it was a combination of several games, DorA, Decades, History, Sports, Entertainment, etc. I could stand a little less baseball and a little more basketball, though....
