The Food that Built America had an entire episode about Doolin, it was fascinating! If the History Channel has this on streaming, I highly recommend it, great series with a plethora of Fun Facts. Doolin Fanny Fun Fact: His mother hocked her wedding ring to get the money for him to buy the recipe off of a Mexican guy who was tired of making them because it was so work intense. Doolin invented (or had somebody do it, I can't remember) a machine to make them, some old manual crank thing, and Fritos would never be the same! Personal Fanny Fun Fact: When I was a kid I had long black hair and my dad would put one pony tail across my face like a moustache and I would do the same to him with the other pony tail and we would sing the Frito Bandito song. Good times....
