Reading Challenge

Okay, just replying to shit and posting a new message to try out my idea. I've been putting off setting up a new laptop (oh, really? Why haven't you mentioned it?) because I've got a bunch of stuff downloaded on here that I use and don't want the hassle of putting it in dropbox or whatever. So, I had an epiphany...maybe it's not the computer but the keyboard, since it's so old that some of the letters have rubbed off of the keys. although I haven't worn any actual divots in the keys like I did on the previous one. I just plugged in a regular keyboard and so far, everything's working!!
Funny how I've gotten so used to the shitty little keyboard on the laptop that I'm going to have to learn how to type on a real one all over again...
Anyway, onto the subject at hand...
I read a lot of books, but never keep track of them and this year I decided to set a goal and keep track of the titles. Well, you can imagine how frustrating it was to try and keep a nice, formatted document with the troubles I've been having and then, yet another epiphany!
I got an email from goodreads about the 2525 challenge and I've had an account forever although I rarely use it and then realized that I could just update my reads directly from my Kindle when I finish a book and goodreads will keep track of it for me. Wow, technology...
I set a goal of 100 books and I've finished 9 in January, so I'm on track! But here's what I'm struggling with:
Should it count if I read a book that I've already read? Obviously a book I've read this year wouldn't count, but I have a few favourites that I re-read every couple of years. Also if I'm reading a series and it's been a while since the last one, I sometimes have to read it again to remember where things left off. Like the Fourth Wing series, Onyx Storm just came out, but it's been so long since I read the first two that I'm not sure if I'll be up on all of the intrigue and world building and whatnot that have gone on before. God knows I'd have enough time to read them again while I'm on the library wait list...
So, anybody have any opinions on whether re-reads should count?
