June QoD!!!! Woohoo!!!!

#1 Post by mrkelley23 » Tue May 27, 2008 8:08 pm

Since no one else has stepped forward, I will host a QoD for the month of June. Below is some general information about my plans. Feel free to ask questions, because I’m sure I haven’t thought everything through well enough yet. My plan is to start this madness on Friday, May 30, with a Jeopardy! Round, then post a question for the weekend. In the spirit of the Beast (good name for a band, there) the game will change according to the day of the week, as such:

Musical Mondays – Not necessarily Lyrically Speaking, but all games with a musical theme, at least.
Crack the Code Tuesdays – Each question will be encoded in some way, so you not only have to decode the question, then you have to answer it.
Double Play Wednesdays – There will be two sets of questions posted, each on one topic. If you don’t like the first topic, you can wait for the second one. If you haven’t answered the first set by the time the second set is posted, you MUST answer the second set if you want points.
Tricky Thursdays – Each question you choose to answer may double your score for the day, if you answer it correctly. But be careful! Thursday is the day I’ll save all the REALLY evil stuff for.
Jeopardy Fridays – Category and answers, including at least one Daily Double, posted in the morning. You have 24 hours to post your questions.

The above games are Google-free, meaning if you use a Search Engine of any kind (other than your brain) you’re cheating, and you know who you are. But on Weekends, baby, we celebrate the rebirth of the QoN, only it’s more like the QoW. That’s right, each weekend I’ll post a set of questions, and you have all weekend, and access to Google, Yahoo, AskJeeves, or any other search tool you can think of, to come up with the correct responses. Play as little or as often as you want – it’s more about the fun and trivia prep, anyway. Post any questions you can think of in this thread, I’ll try to answer them before we get started Friday morning.

Sounds like you've got some fresh concepts to add some interest. Good luck with the scoring!

Mr. mr, is it okay if a four-footer plays? There's lots of stuff I didn't learn in Home School High School, but now I'm trying to learn everything about everything so I can help my mom get ready for Jeopardy, in case they run out of all the good contestants. Anyway, I promise to follow all the rules, because that's the kind of girl I am.

Sure, Miss Annie. There may even be some questions directed at four-footers, since I have three of them inhabiting my house now (that's one of them in my avatar -- she likes to crawl up behind me in the computer chair.)

As far as following rules, you've GOT to be better at it than your mom was (no offense, Jusy) :)

Your Mom IS the good contestant.

Sounds like oodles of fun.

I will be away for 13 days in June - I will play when I can.

I learned a few things when I hijacked your almanac. I think I'll give this QoD thing a try, and you're going down Miss Annie!!! I just don't know if I'll have room on my tree for the nice award I'll get for blowing away the competition in the QoD...

I'm in. 24 hours answering period for all the weekdays? Or just by a set time on the next day?

Nice kitty. When he's awake, the lump to the left jumps up onto the computer work area next to me, then climbs into my lap for some well-deserved (according to him, anyway) adoration.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Default will be 24 hours from posting time. There may be some specials thrown in here and there, and there is the special case of Wednesdays, of course, as noted above.
