Besides Flock?

I'll be there. Playing in event #39.

Just wondering if anyone else will be trying his/her luck/skill.

Nope. Vegas is way too far for me. I'll just watch it on the teevee machine.

I will check to see if my nephew is going.

He has been 'on the circuit'.

Good luck, or whatever one says to WSOP participants. Break a thumb? Anyway, kick hiney and win lots.

Good Luck to those of you already entered. Now that school is out, I am going to be spending some time over on Full Tilt trying to join y'all.

We leave Saturday for six days of poker in Las Vegas. Two players from my poker league won $1,060 Mega-Satelite seats and will play Tuesday or Wednesday. I will be playing in a $330 tournament trying to win a seat in the Main Event. I'm thinking about playing in a tournament Binion's is running next Monday as well. A $200 buy-in event in a series of tournaments called "Binion's Poker Classic". Event #6 is the one I may play in.

Should I come home with any money, I may go back in July for the Casino Employees event which will start July 7th. The entry fee for this event is only $500. I guess they know they don't pay us well enough, so they made the lowest buy-in amount of any in tournament in the series.

I googled my nephew.

I don't know how professional players need to play to stay professional.

Anyone know?

When is Event 39 happening?

I'll be in Vegas when the main event starts, but I'm not going for that...I just got comped for 3 nights at Harrah's, and found cheapo airfare, so I'm going from 7/2 through 7/5.

My nephew has backers - so, I think he is in a different category than you are. I think he needs to do more than just make some money.

I'll be in Phoenix right about then, and that's the closest I'll be to the Idol tour this summer, but if the Main Event is going on, I think I'll pass.

Hot I can stand. Hot AND crowded, nope.

It's not that bad, crowd-wise, except at the Rio (and all of the poker rooms, but I avoid them on the strip anyway...the locals casino poker rooms are mucho better).

I'm going to sit by the pool, play a little carnival poker (3-card, pai gow, 4-card), see my old NTN team, and watch the fireworks from the Strip.

The Rio is just so smoky in the regular part of the casino! I ended up with pneumonia when I went there with a cold.

I TRIED to see the fireworks one Fourth, but the crowds were so densely packed it was insane. We were on the bridge than crosses from Venetian to TI, and I thought that sucker was gonna collapse any second.

And this is from someone who has gone to WDW at Easter. And Thanksgiving. And Christmas. The last one I'll never do again, the other two maybe after my lobotomy...
