Conclave

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Mon Oct 28, 2024 5:09 pm

This is the first Oscar-buzz movie in general release this year, and I went to see it today. It will get nominations in all the major categories, including Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes and deservedly so. The production design showing the inner workings of the Vatican is also terrific. It's about the political machinations among the College of Cardinals who meet to elect a new pope when the incumbent dies in the opening scene. I can't discuss the plot any further, except to say that no one who sees this will ever forget the ending.
