That's a very nice story. Don't miss reading the "Liner Notes," either.

I hope this guy gets more time in the majors.

Bacsik pitched one of the two games I saw in Cincinnati last year. 7 and 2/3 strong innings for the win over a offense-heavy Reds team in a hitter's ballpark...

He's also noteworthy for making his debut in one of the most memorable games of the 2001 season.... the game where the Indians came back from a 12 run deficit to beat the Mariners.... a team that won a record 116 games that same year....

I'm in a league at Baseball Prospectus where theidea is to have the worst possible team that stays in the starting lineup, in the # 10 spot is

Mike Bacsik to my Stomach, chasing such teams as the Bevaqua Velvas & the Heir to the Throneberries.

How come nobody named a team after me? I used to be a star in that league....

There used to be a team named for you, but now the clsest I can come up with is Steve Jeltz or Duane Kuiper. And maybe a dozen Dusty Baker references.
