It was a fun day in college football.

My Aggies (#25) crushed MIzzou (#9). First complete game (both strong offense and defense) against a strong opponent I've seen them play in a few years.

Then:

#1 Alabama losses to unranked Vanderbilt
# 4 Tennessee loses to unranked Arkansas
# 10 Michigan loses to unranked Washington
#11 USC loses to unranked Minnesota

#8 Miami had to overcome a 25 point 2nd half deficit and score with 26 seconds left to win against unranke California.

Ah, but were you the first team in college football to become bowl eligible?

Nope. Congrats to the Hoosiers.

My dream, and it's just that, is that after not playing the Longhorns for 13 years (since we joined the SEC), we play them two weeks in a row (beating them both times). We play them the last weekend of regular season games, at home. The dream is we are both undefeated in SEC play. We win. Then the next week is the SEC playoffs. We are both the top teams. A&M with a conference record of 8-0 and the Longhorns now at 7-1.

[edit] Our undefeated SEC record going into the game with the Longhorns is not a stretch. We have a relatively easy remaining SEC schedule with Miss St., LSU, South Carolina, and Auburn. LSU is the only ranked team of the group, at #13. We play them at home.

[edit 2] The Longhorns being undefeated going into the final game against us, will be tough. They play OU this weekend, then Georgia, and then they have to play Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt (and I don't think Nick Saben thinks that a place that's not hard any more).

Nick Saban comments"The only place you play in the SEC that’s not hard to play is Vanderbilt" (via X)

Paul Finebaum blames this comment on Alabama's loss.
August 31: Georgia Tech 35 - Georgia State 12
September 14: Georgia State 36 - Vanderbilt 32
October 5: Vanderbilt 40 - Alabama 35

Just sayin'
