Tropical storm Milton has formed in the western Gulf of Mexico and is headed east and strengthening. It should reach hurricane strength by Monday. On its present path, it could hit landfall as a Cat 3 or stronger hurricane anywhere along the Florida west coast sometime Wednesday.

This is not what that area needs now.

Hurricane Milton is on the verge of becoming a Cat 5 storm (2 mph less than Cat 5 intensity) and is the third fastest-intensifying hurricane in recorded history. It's expected to grow in size (which may cause it to dip to a Cat 4) and hit landfall, probably between Ft. Myers and Tampa Bay, on Wednesday.
