Super Heroes Lose Their Powers

The US Patent and Trademark Office has canceled a set of "Super Heroes" trademarks jointly owned by Marvel and DC at the request of a British comic book artist who has created a series of comics about super-powered babies he calls "superbabies." When he filed for a trademark in the US, Marvel and DC opposed the move. The Trademark Office reviewed the existing trademarks and cancelled them, meaning that the terms "super hero" and "super heroes" are in the public domain, and anyone can use them in association with a product or other property. So I could start marketing Silver Screen Select Super Heroes, aka SSSSH.
