Oddly enough, or not as the case may be, I have been thinking a lot about Nelson DeMille this week.

I just finished, before I saw this, one of his early books-"Word of Honor." I read it very quickly, by basically setting aside all other books that I am reading.

And i have been thinking about digging into some of his other stuff again. It had been quite awhile since I read anything of his.

Gosh, read a bunch of his stuff awhile ago. Liked him. Must reread.

I really enjoyed his early books that I read, but then I got away from him for many years. I finally had a chance to do a NetGalley review of what turned out to be his last novel, The Maze, and it was a big disappointment. I think he was probably in declining health when he wrote it, which may explain the drop in quality. But his early books like By the Rivers of Babylon and Cathedral are very good.

We just picked up a couple of his books at the used bookstore in Wildwood. By the Rivers of Babylon and Plum Island (as the first John Corey book).

My good friend from grade school Theresa - who lives there year-round - said he is a great rainy-day shore read. Along with James Burke's Robicheaux books (of which I have several I have yet to read).

My good friend from grade school Theresa - who lives there year-round - said he is a great rainy-day shore read. Along with James Burke's Robicheaux books (of which I have several I have yet to read).

A long while back I listened to a bunch of audiobooks and Will Patton read many (all?) of the Robicheax books.

Absolutely perfect voice for the books.

Just in case you can't place Patton-but also because I absolutely love this very minor storyline from the movie Armageddon. I have been known to get dust in my eyes when I watch this even after many repeated viewings.
