They have some pretty vicious trains in Italy.

Its a sad story but the headline caught my eye.

You have to know, especially there, people aren't looking to give you anything for free. I was in Italy last summer and after paying 5 Euros for a 20 oz diet coke, and then on top of it, having the clerk attempt to give me the wrong change (shorting me), you know you're not getting a free cappucino!!

It's a really sad story and overall I think Italy is a safe country to travel in. I went with my family but rented my own car and explored Rome, Florence, Pisa and other areas on my own without a problem. You just have to be careful and smart, no matter where you're traveling.

Just watch out for those killer trains.

Diet coke was really expensive when I went to Italy in 2001. If I wasn't addicted, I wouldn't have bought it.

yeh, that parallel structure is jarring.

What is interesting is that the list of headlines from that source includes several which are worse or more misleading.

No, it didnt. It split in two off the runway after the takeoff. (which did not take off...)
Interestingly, only the second loss of a 747 airframe by being driven off the end of the runway, in nearly 40 years. Similar one in Atlantic Canada, a little known cargo carrier a couple of years ago.

No, it wasn't. To begin with, it should be "Discovery of Titanic", not "Titanic Discovery", which is ambiguous; in fact, that mission was completly above board, as it were. The successful previous examination of nuclear submarine debris fields is at least somewhat new news.
It was not though have been "covered up", it just was never made fully public. Suggest "Robosub Discovery of Titanic Preceded by Secret Missions".

I can just barely tolerate this, but when a malefactor commits an act of nastiness in plain view, there is more than suspicion involved, and different wording should be used. Perhaps "Bride and Groom Shot During Wedding Ceremony", or "Unknown man shoots bride and groom during wedding"

It wasn't really about the train...the train was just coincidental, at least that's how it sounds from the story. It sounds like he was drugged in/near a cafe and then because he was drugged, managed to get hit by a train? At least that's how I read it.

The headline been changed to something innocuous now, but I was getting a Thomas the Tank Engine on meth vibe.

This isn't exactly what I want to hear about with two sons abroad and using the rails to get from place to place.

I'm sure they won't, but worrying is part of the parental job description, even though they are full-grown adults.
