The DVD rental company is going into Chapter 7 liquidation and the 24,000 red kiosks at convenience stores, groceries, and other retail locations will be removed and sold. The company's online streaming service has also closed, and its 1,000 employees, many of whom haven't been paid for a while, are now officially unemployed.
This bankruptcy marks the unofficial end of the physical DVD rental business.
