How'd you figure out had to do that.takinover wrote:Why do people here still use it when you can insert the url like this?
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Easy, all you have to do is [ url=http://yourlink.com ]name the link here[ /url ]
But without the spaces in the brackets.
Quicker than going to another website to generate another link I think.

Posting a URL using text is here in the Suggestion Box
Or, the Suggestion Box if you prefer:

Thanks, Tan, for the step-by-step pointers! Try it; it's easy & fun (addictive too, once you learn how)
As for making an avatar, SSS -- near the top of your bored is a "Profile" link. Click on it. At the bottom is the Avatar Control Panel. You can upload an avatar from your own computer -- size is limited to 200x200 pixels. Use the Avatar Generator to resize if necessary. You can also find an image online & link to that (follow the instructions.)
If you choose to link to an offsite avatar, you could theoretically use a larger image -- but that messes up the left margin of the bored for everyone in the thread, so don't do it; it's bad netiquette & the Bored Police will give you a ticket! Just resize as described above.
Hope this helps
