A young beaver

Today's wildlife report. As I was jogging across the causeway of a local lake I ran up on a juvenile beaver. I was within 15 feet of him before he dashed into the lake.

What kind of juvenile beaver?

I assume it's an American beaver.

That happens around here too. If only we could get rid of the ones that eat our nice saplings that were going to be beautiful shade trees in about 10 years.

Today it was The Tortoise and the Hare, well actually it was a cottontail and a turtle. The rabbit was faster but I did out run the turtle.
