Bob Hearts Abishola and Young Sheldon will end in May, while Blue Bloods is splitting its last season and will air the last few episodes in the fall. SWAT had been cancelled last season and again this season before getting late reversal-of-course renewals.

Law & Order has had 23 seasons in 1990-2020 and 2022 till now. Shows with an even longer hiatus include Roseanne, Dallas, and recently Frasier. Dallas and Frasier reset their season count, maybe because they changed networks.

The only shows on the list I've seen in the past year or more are "Jeopardy! Masters", "For All Mankind", and "The Traitors".

Variety wrote: “The Conners” has been renewed for Season 7 at ABC, which will also be the show’s last. In addition, ABC has canceled “Not Dead Yet” after two seasons.

The final season of “The Conners” will reportedly be shorter than past seasons, with sources saying it will run for just six episodes. ABC declined to comment on the length of the season.

Following the writers and actors strikes that delayed production for most scripted series, the writers room for the Showtime psychological thriller reopened in September. Pre-production for the series was shut down just one day after the WGA strike began last May.

Taylor Sheridan is filming a new series, Landman, staring Billy Bob Thornton, in our area. I believe Sheridan lives here as well. It is supposed to be released in 2025. They had a shoot at the bar/cantina about 1 mile from our house and I've seen location setups between our house and Weatherford. Other locations have been reported on NextDoor, being the High School, a local nursing home, hospital, etc.

Last year they were filming parts of 1883 down the road that our neighborhood is off of. My daughter was walking down the road and some crew members asked is she was an "extra", then told her she wouldn't be able to go all the way to the end of the road.

It's part of the Big Bang Theory canon that this marriage doesn't last, and they've emphasized that in the very title of this show. Has there ever been a family sit-com before where the audience knows that the marriage is going to fail?

Not a sitcom, but the Broadway jukebox musical Movin’ Out featured the songs of Billy Joel, including Scenes From an Italian Restaurant. Everyone in the theater knew that Brenda and Eddie’s marriage would not last, so ”they got a divorce as a matter of course and departed the closest of friends.”

Matlock: Renewed for season 2

CBS has renewed FBI, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, NCIS: Sydney, Ghosts (for two seasons), Tracker, Fire Country, George & Mandy's First Marriage, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Hollywood Squares, and Elspeth.

CBS has canceled FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, and SWAT (for the third time). The original FBI has been renewed for two seasons, and the network is developing a spinoff series for next season entitled FBI: CIA. Despite the confusing title, that show would focus on the CIA.

ABC has renewed 9-1-1, Grey's Anatomy, Will Trent, The Rookie, and Shifting Gears. No word yet on Doctor Odyssey.

The next episode of Grey's Anatomy will answer the question, "Is that show still on?"

Poppa's House and The Summit have been canceled by CBS.

CBS has had more cancellations than usual this season, so they've announced several new series, some of which seem quite interesting:

• CIA -- Despite the title, it's a spinoff of the FBI series from Dick Wolf. Tom Ellis (Lucifer) plays a rule-breaking CIA agent teamed with a by-the-book FBI agent (not yet cast) to work on cases in the US that cross jurisdictional lines.

• Einstein -- Matthew Gray Gubler from Criminal Minds (a very good choice) plays Albert Einstein's great-grandson who is a college professor with no purpose in his life until he decides to help the New York Police Department solve crimes.(It's a wonder how TV cops can solve crimes on their own without the help of brilliant consultants.)

• DMV -- Comedy set at a big city DMV starring Tim Meadows as a driving examiner.

• Boston Blue -- Spinoff of Blue Bloods with Donnie Wahlberg as his Blue Bloods role of Danny Regan, now working for the Boston PD.

• Sheriff Country -- Spinoff of Fire Country with Morena Baccarin as the sheriff of the small California town where Fire Country takes place.
