There is a town in a valley. To the west in another valley is the same town but 20 years in the past. To the east is the identical town but 20 years in the future. Only in special circumstances can someone cross the border. It's speculative fiction.

A former cop is wrongly sent to prison. On his first day there there is systems glitch at the same time the governor's daughter is visiting. It's a thrill to read if a rescue can happen on the roof while the good people start from the first floor.
