Question for Texans - re: HS hoops size

#1 Post by mellytu74 » Sun Mar 10, 2024 12:58 pm

I was looking at the Texas high school basketball results yesterday.

How are the divisions - 1A, 2A, etc. determined? I figure it's size but what's the limit for each class?

Thanks.

It is by size of the school. There is even a breakdown to Division I and II by size within class, for football playoffs.

There is 1A through 6A. It is by school so sometimes schools in the same district are in different classes.

The link below has the cutoffs for each class.
