Bizarre Thursday Night Football Game

The Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 63-21 last night. That was the most points the Raiders have ever scored in a game, the most points the Chargers have given up in a game, and the most points in a prime time game since the NFL/AFL merger. The Raiders led 42-0 at halftime and 63-7 before the Chargers scored a couple of late touchdowns against the Raiders' second string defense. What makes the result even more bizarre is that four days earlier, the Raiders lost to Minnesota 3-0. Needless to say, that 63 point turnaround is the largest in NFL history.

The Chargers ownership was not amused and today fired head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Tedesco. Staley is the third head coach fired this season. The Raiders know the feeling; they fired their head coach over a month ago.

As someone who hasn't really followed the NFL much in the past 20 years or so (and still makes weekly picks anyway), this just doesn't seem right to me...
