Solar Panels marching to the horizon with no life in sight.

In case anybody doesn't get why I did this.

In a very tough competition, Kroxquo noses out everybody else here in posting sanctimoniously from a position of moral superiority.

And solar panels marching to the horizon with no life in sight is something that is the real-world result of positions that Kroxquo has long sanctimoniously advocated for here and it is certainly the real-world result of what he votes for.

I like how Frank is “let’s be more civil,” and you are like “nah.”

Anyway, just because you can find an example of a state doing something stupid doesn’t mean that solar panels themselves are bad. Arizona might benefit from them, for example. Do you think Arizona will benefit from them or are you just going to point out the stupid example and extrapolate that all examples must be stupid?

Using that logic, can I also extrapolate that, because this post by you was stupid and ad hominem, all of your posts must be?

Anyway, I think there should be more solar panels where they are practical - I looked into for my home and the tree coverage in the area made them impractical, you will be relieved to know.

Not a subscriber to the that bastion of responsible journalism, the Washington Times, so I can't read the article.

If your point is, "look at all these solar panels, placed in a place where no one lives (the brief glimpse I got before multiple popups did their thing said Mona, Utah)," can you explain your reasoning to me?

Energy is portable. NIMBY syndrome is a thing.

If I misread your point, I apologize.

As for sanctimoniousness, well, ... the good book says something about motes and beams, I believe.

BTW-I am not a subscriber to the Wash times-but I could still see the picture.

I am a long-time member of the American Battlefield Trust (formerly the Civil War Battlefield Trust).

As one might imagine, Virginia is Ground-Zero for battlefield preservation efforts.

The red-hot danger to a battlefield at this moment is a large proposed data center-But, a long-term cancer is industrial scale solar.

as the recent issue notes ->>>>the so-called "environmentalists" in Virginia have mandated that all electricity be "renewable" by 2050."<<< My words and air quotes-not theirs.

Thus scores of industrial-scale solar complexes each chewing up hundreds of acres of land are under consideration across Virginia.

Tens of thousands of acres (maybe more) of currently open land in rural Virginia will be converted to solar farms (with no life in sight) to make liberal urbanites feel like they are "environmentalists."

Biological life means nothing to them-they just want the "Feels"."

The funny part is that as solar panels only last about 25 to 30 years-any put in now will have to be replaced by the 2050 deadline.

To be fair, Spock's post preceded mine. And kind of inspired it.

His second post in the thread followed Frank’s new thread.
