OMG, what a story.

And before anyone attacks the California Globe as a source-it has also been widely reported on local network affiliates and such.

And I am left to ponder the age-old Bored question. How could our designated news hounds here who breathlessly let us know if a Rebublican dog catcher has a loose crap miss this story?

How is this a "Democratic" story, other than the fact that the lab was operating in a state with a Democratic governor? From what I gathered from the local ABC station's story, authorities have been investigating this facility for months and finally got an order to seize and destroy the biological material there in early July. From reading the article, the delays involved were due to the complexity of tracking down the facility's ownership and going through legal proceedings. The mice that were still alive were euthanized in April, and the remaining material seized in July after a decision that the property was a public nuisance. The building itself will be destroyed as well. The video in this linked article is a good four-minute summary of the case.

The part of Spock's story about how the mice were "genetically engineered to catch and carry COVID" is nonsense. The lab was manufacturing pregnancy and COVID tests, and the mice were used to test them. It's an unlicensed facility that was making black market medical supplies.
