My daughter who lives with me has jury duty on August 23. In Fulton County, you serve for one day and if you're not picked for a trial that day, you're done. If you are selected for a jury, you finish the trial, however long it takes. A couple of months ago, the DA told the judges and clerks to clear their schedules for the first two weeks of August. Judging by the jury duty date, they obviously expect the Trump circus to be over by then.

Donald Trump's latest motion to disqualify DA Willis and the judge in the case from any proceedings involving Trump has been set for a hearing August 10. Trump first filed the motion with the Georgia Supreme Court, which turned it down on procedural grounds. However, they want on to indicate that if they had heard the case on the merits, they would have decided it the same way. Trump refiled in Superior Court anyway. Because the case involves a Fulton County judge, all the other Superior Court judges in Fulton County have recused themselves and the case will be heard by a Cobb County judge. Because of the Supreme Court opinion, which seemed tailored to cut down on Trump's delaying tactics, it doesn't look like this motion has much chance of success. However, it's likely that Willis will await the outcome of this hearing before unsealing any indictments against Trump or anyone else.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney just rejected a motion by Donald Trump and one of the fake Georgia electors to quash the special grand jury report and remove himself and DA Fani Willis from further involvement in the case. McBurney said Trump and the elector lacked standing to bring the suit since no indictments have actually been issued yet. This ruling came in response to a motion filed by Trump in March. He also added that he found Trump's arguments on the merits "unpersuasive."

This is not the same case that is currently before a Cobb County judge asking that McBurney and Willis be disqualified. However, McBurney was critical of the Trump lawyers for filing that case before he ruled. He also noted that if Trump appeals his ruling, that will render the Cobb County case moot. Since the Georgia Supreme Court essentially ruled against Trump already, his chances of succeeding in any Georgia court appear very slim right now. The Cobb County case is scheduled for a hearing August 10, and I would expect indictments to follow very soon after, unless the Cobb County judge dismisses Trump's case before that. Georgia courts are rapidly losing patience with Trump's legal antics.

Trump has filed another petition with the Georgia Supreme Court asking to have the special grand jury report thrown out and DA Willis and Judge McBurney disqualified from any proceedings against him. I'm not sure what differences there are between this motion and the one the Supreme Court threw out two weeks ago, so I doubt this will slow down any proceedings against him. (They may even toss this one without asking Willis to file a response.) One thing that may hold up any indictments of Trump and others is the testimony of George Chidi, an online journalist who stumbled across the meeting of the fake Georgia electors in December 2020 at the State Capitol. (They met the same time as the real electors who cast their votes for Biden.) Chidi will be on call starting next week, so I'm guessing he testifies sooner rather than later. Two former Democratic state senators, Bee Nguyen and Jen Jordan (who were the Democratic candidates for Secretary of State and Attorny General in the 2022 election) have also been subpoenaed to testify about Rudy Giuliani's claims of election fraud following the 2020 Presidential election. Unlike Trump's federal indictment, the Georgia indictment is highly likely to include other people, including some Georgia government officials.

Trump has dismissed his case that was to be argued next week before a Cobb County judge. The only cases he has pending are an appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court from Judge McBurney's order denying the motion to quash the grand jury report and disqualify him and DA Willis. Trump also has an original case filed with the Georgia Supreme Court seeking the same relief. Since the Georgia Supreme Court unanimously indicated last month they were not inclined to grant Trump any relief, these cases will probably come to an end sometime next week.

If Willis goes through with her sham, and Trump has to come down here, I will be there. To Peacefully and Patriotically protest.

Maybe I'll be thrown in solitary confinement like many from J6 who are still there. I'm sure they'll be able to find me. Not anywhere near as difficult as finding who leaked the Supreme Court documents or who left cocaine in the White House.

Judge Robert McBurney has told reporters at the Fulton County Courthouse that they might want to get dinner and come back this evening. The courthouse will not be closing at 5:00 as usual. The last group of witnesses subpoenaed, including former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, had their testimony moved up to today, so it looks like indictments are coming down this evening.

I would like to remind Flock that I am a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia, in case he needs representation in the next day or two for any reason.

A preliminary charging sheet that was briefly posted on the Fulton County DA's website around 1:00 today, then taken down appears to show 13 counts against Trump. However, the numbers by the counts go from 1 to 39. It's unclear what those missing 26 counts mean, whether they are charges against other defendants or charges that were dropped or charges that will be included somewhere else in the indictment. In any event, Trump is in deep doo doo based on these 13 charges alone. The DA's office called this an inadvertent filing and cautioned anyone from reading anything into it.

I'm guessing that advancing the testimony is a direct response to Donny's witness-tampering efforts. --Bob

Yes, as bobby and you show, the legal profession is in sad shape and has no boundaries in promoting its political goals.
