The IRS whistleblowers had nothing to do with Luft's information provided to the FBI. The second IRS whistleblower was Joseph Ziegler, Shapley's deputy. Both of them said they thought the IRS should have pursued more serious charges against Biden. Their boss disagreed. So too did the IRS's Criminal Tax Counsel office. That office provides legal advice about criminal matters to IRS investigators like Shapley. So Shapley and Ziegler disagreed with their boss and their attorney about whether there was anything more worth pursuing against Hunter Biden.

I don't know how "highly regarded" Shapley is, other than in his own mind and perhaps the mind of the Republicans feverishly hoping his testimony is accurate. There is substantial information that Shapley was leaking information about the investigation to "friendly" sources when things weren't going as fast as he wanted. And there's his own admission that he was passed over for a promotion for which he felt he was clearly the most qualified candidate (something about 99% of people passed over for promotions say) BEFORE he went public with his whistleblowing claims.

Luft has his facts wrong and you've bought into it. He was indicted on November 1, 2022. The indictment remained sealed until July 11, 2003. The New York Post ran the video on July 5 (they published an earlier version of the story without the video on May 31), and it's a fair assumption that the video led to the government officially announcing Luft's indictment and arrest. Luft refers to the fact that he recorded the video while in hiding, so it appears the video was made sometime between April (when he skipped bail) and July 5.

His claim about the timing of the indictment is completely absurd. There was no mention anywhere I could find in November about Luft's indictment, and, since the details about his reporting his "evidence" to the FBI hadn't been made public, if any news outlet reported that an obscure foreign national had been indicted for being an unregistered foreign agent and arms trafficker, that story would have been buried in the back pages of the news section.

Luft and Flock also seem confused about how criminal procedure works in the federal court system. An accused is entitled to the discovery of evidence to be used against him, but only after he enters the criminal justice system and a case is assigned to a judge who oversees the discovery process. Luft has never appeared in US court since he skipped bail before he was extradited here. The government does not post its case publicly while a defendant is a fugitive.

Flock also seems insistent that "the media" investigate this case further. Well, the New York Post is part of the media, and they have the enormous advantage of already having talked to Luft and possibly seen whatever information he has. Fox News and other right wing outlets are part of the media too. Why aren't they out trying to confirm Luft's claims, which would really stick it to the liberal establishment? House Committee Schedules Long-Promised Hearing On UFOs For Next Week

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee has scheduled a hearing on UFOs, also called unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), for next Wednesday.
The hearing has long been promised by House Republicans, who pledged to explore unconfirmed claims about UAP sightings from a former U.S. intelligence official and two former Navy servicemen.

“We’re done with the cover-ups,” Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said in a tweet Thursday announcing the hearing. “Last year, the House Intelligence Committee held a hearing on UAPs. They brought in some Pentagon bureaucrats who only had two answers to the questions they were asked: ‘I don’t know,’ or ‘That is classified,’” Burchett said at a press conference Thursday. “This hearing is going to be different. We’re going to have witnesses who can speak frankly to the public about their experiences.”

Members of Congress, the Pentagon and NASA have all pushed back on holding the upcoming hearing, he said. “There are a lot of people who don’t want this to come to light,” he continued. David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence official, is among those scheduled to testify. Last month, he told The Debrief that the federal government has an undercover program for recovering debris from crashed spacecrafts of non-human origin. The Pentagon says it hasn’t found any evidence to substantiate Grusch’s claim. Other witnesses scheduled are David Fravor, a former Navy commander, and Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot ― both of whom claim to have spotted UAPs. “I can tell you, I think it was not from this world,” Fravor told ABC News in 2017 about what he witnessed while on a training mission in 2004.
