Here is the story of the first Black man ever elected to be mayor of Newbern, Alabama, a town whose population is 85% Black. The white power structure is forcibly preventing him from serving. One of his supporters had her house burned down. --Bob

Florida public schools are about to start teaching their kids that Black people benefited from slavery because it taught them skills.

Congrats, bobby. You found an example of racism! You had to go to a dying town of less than 200 people to do it. So that must mean all white people are racist by extrapolation, right?

What is happening in Newbern is absolutely wrong. And I hope that Braxton's legal action is successful, and the scumbags are prosecuted. But that does not mean that the vast majority of white people are guilty of anything, and should not have the Federal or State government pass laws and policies as if they are. Those asshat racists don't represent me or the vast majority of conservatives, and I completely disavow and disown any people who in any way applaud them.

Then you bring up slavery again. Slavery is over and it has been over for 150 years, bobby. This obviously biased article picks one sentence out of the outline and discredits and discounts the whole thing, instead of working to compromise. How are you going to teach about slavery? The 1619 project? I'm sure there is more than one sentence in that that I object to. Who is going to nationally publish MY objections, bobby?

Slavery was a horrible stain on our country, bobby. But we eliminated it. At great cost. And we've eliminated 99% of racism in this country. Yes, bobby, we have. The vast majority of the racism in this country is on your side of the aisle. And they are very vocal. You just don't hear them because you don't want to hear them.

And be aware, there are more people caught in human trafficking TODAY, which is slavery by another name, than there were black slaves. That could be a place for your misdirected outrage should go.

Just for grins, Give me two numbers. Don't look it up.

How many unarmed black men were shot by police in 2019?

How many people were killed in the George Floyd riots?

Don't cheat. Don't give me reasons why you won't do it. Don't give me trollboy screeds. If you don't want to, just don't. We'll all know why. You can argue about it after you put your guesses up.

I did have to look it up. Number of blacks killed by police in 2019 - 251 (the numbers vary from year to year but are about the same)

People killed in George Floyd riots: Between 11 and 25 (details sketchy on some cases)

It was quite depraved of him to lie down and let a cop put his knee on him until he died.

Slavery is not evil because it is racist, slavery is bad because it is slavery. Slavery is also ancient. It provided the renewable sustainable biodegradable energy for the elites for millennia. Interracial slavery did not become commonplace until a leap in transportation technology in the 16th Century allowed slaves sold by Africans to be transported to the Americas to provide sustainable renewable energy for the elites. Technological improvements in energy production later made it possible to eliminate slavery in the West. Within approximately 100 years of the Watt-Wilkinson collaboration that produced an efficient fossil fueled steam engine, slavery was abolished in the West. Slavery reappeared in Germany during the fossil fuel shortage of the first half of the 1940s. (Audrey Hepburn’s half-brother along with many other Belgians, Dutch, French and other Europeans were enslaved to ameliorate the fossil fuel shortage)

Interesting juxtaposition-SSS was asked how many "UNARMED" black men were killed by police and he responded with the total number of blacks killed by police.

Somebody who starts shooting at the police first or decides to commit suicide by cop (etc etc)probably should not be counted as examples of how racist the USA is.

And not everyone who is "armed" presents an equal perceived threat. The percentage of blacks who get shot by police is considerably higher than whites.

What are the actual percentages you are comparing? Anyone can say A is considerably higher than B. But what is the value of A and the value of B? Or do you know (i.e. just making a random statement based on what you want to be the "fact")?

And what is used for the numerator and what is used for the denominator in the calculaton of those percentages? Are you using the gross number shot divided by the gross population (as I suspect)?

Floyd was a victim of his continued criminal activity and drug use. Had he not be doing criminal behavoir and high on drugs he would not have ended up beneath Chavin's knee.

Floyd was no hero, contrary to his portrayal by the left, but he did not deserve to die. But neither did the X people who were killed in the resulting BLM-enflamed riots. BLM, which has done NOT ONE THING to improve the lives of anyone. Well, excepting its founders.

Are you sure that's your position, BiT? Because it really sounds like you're trying to justify Floyd's summary public execution by a now-convicted murderer, without so much as the trial that his murderer received. --Bob
