When I was in grad school I had a summer job at a NASA institute. The scientists were studying the atmosphere of Venus. People assume Venus is so hot because it's close to the sun, but the main reason is its atmosphere: 96% CO2. The head scientist there, Dr. Hansen, sounded the alarm about greenhouse gasses on earth.
