The Out-Laws

#1 Post by BackInTex » Fri Jul 14, 2023 7:44 am

Just don't.

Ugh, this was a terrible movie. The few actual funny gags were too few and far between the 12 year-old humor and plot written by a 9 year-old.

If you like foul language as a main course, with no sides of intellect, this movie may be for you, as long as the plot doesn't matter.

Ms. BiT wanted me to pick a movie. I picked Deep End of The Ocean. She mentioned our neice suggested The Out-Laws. I started Deep End of the Ocean, maybe 2 minutes, then decided I wanted something more light hearted so decided to use my wife's choice. Bad move. She agreed.

Rogerebert.com gave it 1/2 star. I guess they knew what they were talking about. That's a shame. You would think that Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin would be enough to make a decent movie.

Brosnan and Barkin were playing roles similar to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr & Mrs Smith. With better writting it could have been good. They could have been good. Too many over the top SNL-like characters beyond Brosnon, Barkin, Devine, and Dobrev. It was like watchin a bad SNL skit (from a recent season) for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
