The Oldest Bored Baby Just Got Engaged

#1 Post by Spock » Wed Jul 05, 2023 12:15 pm

The Spocklette-born March 2001-Conceived June 2000-shortly after my debut on the Bored.

I think she is likely the oldest Bored Baby.

Possible wedding this winter. I don't think they will wait till next summer-and No, she is not pregnant.

He had gone the whole 9 yards-he asked our blessing and so forth. He said he would wait until we got back from Africa.

I imagine it was a very long 2 weeks for him when she was in Africa and the poor boy had the question burning a hole in his pocket.

Yea! I've been told "congratulating" a woman on her engagement was inappropriate, so I'm saying "congratulations" to you, and her fiancee. To her, "Best wishes".

In her honor, I give you this song. I haven't recorded it yet. It's one of 24 that I wrote for a themed concept concert.

He Gave Me a Ring

(Verse 1)
G D C G
He gave me a ring under that old willow tree,
Said, "Darlin', will you forever be with me?"
I looked into his eyes, under that silver moon's glow,
In the quiet of the night, I whispered, "I don't know."

(Chorus)
C G D Em
Am I sure? Am I certain this is right?
Can I promise to hold him every day and every night?
We're engaged now; it feels like a dream,
But a promise is forever, more than it may seem.

(Verse 2)
G D C G
I love him, yes I do, more than words can say,
But commitment is serious; it ain't some child's play.
His heart is gentle, his love is true,
I'm just scared of the future we're walking into.

(Chorus)
C G D Em
Am I sure? Am I ready for this leap?
Can I be the one to soothe him when he can't sleep?
This ring is a symbol of a love that's supposed to last,
Am I ready for this link to our past?

(Bridge)
Am Em C D
So here I stand, under the stars' watchful eyes,
Questioning the what, the where the whys.
Can I be the woman he believes me to be?
Can I be the one to hold the key?

(Chorus)
C G D Em
Am I sure? Am I brave enough to try?
Can I promise to love him until the day I die?
This engagement, it's more than just a ring,
It's a lifetime; it's a song we're meant to sing.

(Outro)
G D Em C
So, am I sure? I look into his loving eyes,
And I see a future where true love lies.
Yes, I'm scared, but isn't that how it should be?
For love is a risk, but it's worth it, now I see.
