"The Quartet: Orchestrating the Second American Revolution, 1783-1789" by Joseph J. Ellis. This book focuses on the crafting and adoption of the United States Constitution.

"Ratification: The People Debate the Constitution, 1787-1788" by Pauline Maier. This book offers a detailed account of the contentious battle to ratify the Constitution in the states.
