Daughter update

Heather is in the hospital. She hasn't been doing well. I've been paying for an assistant to stay with her all day and drive her to doctors' appointments and shops.

Yesterday she went for a pre-op exam with the surgeon who will fuse her C5 and T1 vertebrae. He saw she had jaundice, so he sent her to the ER. They ran a blood test and found all sorts of abnormalities. There were too many for her to remember, but the most notable was extremely low potassium.

They admitted her and did an MRI of her whole spine. They must have found something in her intestines because they scheduled her for a colonoscopy. That's happing as I type this.

I'm afraid this is the beginning of the end.

I just spoke with my younger granddaughter, Brittany. Heather's going downhill fast. She may not make it through the weekend.

If anyone wonders, Facebook peeps know my probs are just that I have a "remaining pieces of lasered kidney stone" operation that keeps being cancelled by surgeon who keeps leaving for family stuff. Leaving me with a kidney-to-urethra stent that makes me need to pee every 2 minutes. This keeps urethra open,but its been in over 2 months now. I've asked them to just schedule stent removal & push the op to whenever, but there are a lot of deserted patients to reshedule.

So I'm very annoyed but not sick.
