I just saw last night's "Criminal Minds".

They ended with everyone getting into identical SUVs...
Spoiler
...then blew one up with no way of us being able to figure out which one it was. I even stepped though it frame by frame.

I watched.
Spoiler
...and, like you, tried easing through frame by frame to see if I could identify which agent got bombed. No luck. So I did some cogitatin' to see if I could figure out who it was.

1. JJ - given the comments by her boyfriend earlier about him not liking her out on the front lines and his later resignation from the New Orleans force, it would be sadly appropriate if she were the one.

2. Reed - he's already had his "crisis" so he's not due for another one yet.

3. Penelope - ditto.

4. Morgan - possibly, but doubtful (unless there are some behind-the-scenes contract issues going on).

5. David Rossi - just joined the show so not likely to be killed off this soon.

6. Hotchner - he's become quite the prig of late and may deserve the bombing, but he's head of the BAU so probably not the target

7. Emily - my money's on her because she's been a rather peripheral character most of the season.

Sigh. I hate this type ending too.
Spoiler
I saw it. Also saw the ambulance on ER get blown up last week. We can all read the gossip stuff & find out who wasn't signed to a contract. Or, if either series really thinks this is suspense (remember when whatever soap put lotsa actors into a car drove it off a cliff? Well, not a real cliff, but you-know) I guess they could sign everybody & tell the unlucky but still salary-receiving actors "who died" next season.

Did anyone who went thru it frame-by-frame
Spoiler
try to catch the license plate #?? I watched but didn't record it, so I'm out of luck.

As for JJ, why bother to announce the character's pregnancy (because the actress is pregnant IRL) if they're going to kill her off? So, probably *not* her. Otherwise, I'm pretty stumped!

Of course - no go.

Review it again at slow speed. From vantage points off the front right of the vehicles, you will see several team members approach and enter their vehicles. For several of them, there are light poles and/or trees alongside the vehicles. When the SUV blows up, the vantage point is from off the left rear, but there clearly are NO poles and/or trees at the right. IF they are being honest with those camera angles, then many team members can be ruled safe by this.

My money's on the New Orleans cop. It avoids the silly problem they have written themselves into where he has to fly in and out of town every weekend to meet with her (which gets rather expensive on a cop's salary), allows the pregnancy to figure into next season's story lines, and gives everyone additional motivation to find the bad guys next season.

Someone on another bored mentioned that the doors on the SUV in the final scene don't look like the doors on any of the team's vehicles.

Since I didn't record it -- I have no way of verifying that :?

I think SSS has a point about who, though.
Spoiler
Too bad; I love listening to him! He's so southern, he don't even open his mouth when he talks!

I noted the same thing. The vehicle had double "french" doors but it didn't appear that the others did although you couldn't always say for sure.

I think the accent is bit more "Hollywood" southern. The actor, Josh Stewart, is more from your neck of the woods than from New Orleans or what most might describe as "the South". According to his bio he was born and grew up in east central West Virginia in a small probably mining town up in the hills not far from the tiny town where my father was born. If he had any accent growing up it was probably either a hill country accent, such as it is, or a flat midwestern accent as my father has.

His accent on the show always seemed a bit forced to me and not quite right for New Orleans. Trying a bit to hard to accentuate the drawl aspect that Hollywood loves to emphasize and not enough Cajun influence that I typically here from area natives.

That's probably true. Hollywood often blows up vehicles that look similar to the good ones. They usually don't blow up $40,000 vehicles.
