RIP Astrud Gilberto

Brazilian singer best known for providing the vocals on the singing version of The Girl from Ipanema. The instrumental version of the song was an international hit in the early 1960s but her husband Joao Gilberto and Stan Getz recorded the new version in 1964 and had Astrud provide the vocals. Their version won the Record of the Year Grammy in 1965.
