The pretty postage entry got into gift giving. BD is registered at a couple of places, one of which has already been cleared out. However, the much maligned gift card option would be appreciated. Any gift received has to be transported cross-country, and probably stored until their number comes up on the housing wait list. Gift cards are easy in both respects.
So is cash. Cash flow may be an issue in the near term, especially if they end up without real housing for a couple of months and BD's job situation out there isn't resolved. We have no intention of asking specifically for cards or cash in the invitations, though. There is no way to do that and not be incredibly tacky, even if there is a good reason for the request. We'll just have to rely on the intelligence of my family members. [C3PO] We're doomed! [/C3PO]
One of FSIL's buddies has a house with spare rooms, but the buddy was still "out in the field" and unable to be asked about it. I don't really know if the buddy had offered it at one point, or if it's just FSIL's idea. I'll have to check with BD.
