All this Spock loves Putin crap is really unimportant to me-you may have missed it over the years, but my main foreign policy focus is that I am a China hawk. EVERYTHING is viewed through that lens.
I have actually long thought that the US and Russia (under whatever leadership) should be natural allies against China. But it isn't working out that way at present as Putin and China are working together.
You can't tell me that China isn't drooling over the lightly-populated and resource rich areas of Siberia and the Russian Far East.
As they make their moves to the north, we can kiss the Amur tiger (among other things) goodbye.
I am sure that all of the usual suspects here are extremely happy that Bolsonaro is no longer leader of Brazil. He was taken out with help from the Biden Admin.
But, ha ha-the jokes on you-the new Brazilian president is moving as fast as he can into China's orbit. One of the things that the western left didn't like about Bolsonaro was his policies of developing the Amazon.
Once again, the jokes on you. I am sure the Chinese will be very concerned about protecting the Amazon.

I agree that this administration is pretty poorly situated to deal with China. I still think they have the insight into world affairs. I think they talk down to would be allies, as we are seeing right now, with the Saudis.
Doesn’t mean Donald Trump wouldn’t be worse.
Unfortunately, there is a definite vibe that the forces of darkness are lining up together.
So a leader, who would really build alliances and seek out, the national interest would intrigue me.
But Donald Trump‘s whole deal was which countries owed him favors and can make him money. That’s absolutely what we don’t need right now.

That's rich, considering the info coming out about the Biden crime family's influence peddling.

Exactly what "info" are you talking about? Hint: right-wing conspiracy websites don't count.

It’s funny, because I think Hunter Biden is sleazy and slime, but it’s also not really clear there’s been any evidence that he had any influence on policy. In fact, zip.
Which is the important thing, right? Ideally, this guy would be coked out in a Bangkok hotel, and leave the rest of us alone, but this is a lot of sound and fury.
And the thing about whataboutism is that if you’re not outraged about what Trump is alleged to have done, why should I care about you bringing up Hunter Biden? It’s clear this stuff doesn’t actually bother you, or you would not have supported Trump.
Wah, the big liberal media is a bunch of hypocrites, waaah! Big deal. How about look out for the country instead.
