"[Iranian operatives are] taking al-Qaeda into Iran, training them and sending them back... [it's] common knowledge and has been reported in the media that al-Qaeda is going back into Iran and receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran, that's well known."
--John McCain, March 18, 2008

"Today in Iraq, America and our allies stand on the precipice of winning a major victory against radical Islamic extremism. The security gains over the past year have been dramatic and undeniable. Al-Qaeda and Shia extremists--with support from external powers such as Iran--are on the run but not defeated."
--John McCain, March 18, 2008

"Do you still view al-Qaeda in Iraq as a major threat?... Certainly not an obscure sect of the Shiites overall?"
--John McCain, April 8, 2008

Iran and al-Qaeda! Iran and al-Qaeda! Did I mention Iran and al-Qaeda?!

No, sorry. They're not working together. Never have, never will. Iran is a Shiite Muslim country and al-Qaeda are Sunni Muslims. If an Iranian showed up at an al-Qaeda clubhouse, they'd slice off his head and use it for a soccer ball. And McCain is supposedly the foreign policy expert in this presidential race? Sheesh, even his BFF Joe Lieberman had to correct him.

McCain don't know Shiite from shineola.

That was pretty funny.

What made it really funny was that wintergreen wrote just one sentence.
