First place!

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Sun Apr 02, 2023 5:32 pm

The Mets’ victory today, combined with the Braves losing, elevates the Mets to undisputed possession of first place in the National League Eastern Division. May that still (or again) be true at the end of the season. —Bob

Hope springs eternal. And you have to celebrate these moments when you can.

And by the way, I haven't checked, but I think my first opportunity to make one of these posts came in 2015. --Bob

Well, that didn't last long. The Mets have fallen (out of first place). Can they get up? Time will tell. --Bob

Tampa Bay Rays currently on pace to go 162-0 for the season.

The New York Mets are not.

I hadn't wanted to dig back in the archive to resurrect this thread, but now that Vandal has, let's just say that Bob's post hasn't aged well.

Hey! After yesterday's stirring victory, the Mets have closed to within 23 games of the lead. Never say die! --Bob

They are only 3 games out of 1st (in New York).
